Gary M. Foster, 59 of Pleasant Valley, passed away at his residence on Friday, September 23, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Portland, Maine on January 16, 1957, he was the son of the late Walter and Janine Foster.
Gary was a well known farrier and was highly respected by his peers and was often called upon for his expertise in his field. When he was a young man he joined his father in raising and racing standardbreds in Maine.
Gary was married to Melanie Torlish, who survives at home. He is also survived by his son Ian Foster and his daughter Nicole Apadula;  his grandchildren Noah and Owen; his brothers, Steve, Tad, Irvin, and Dana. He was predeceased by his daughter Dawn and his brother Guy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 27 from 4-7 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. Funeral services will follow at 7pm from the funeral home. Interment will take place on Wednesday, September 28 in Foster Cemetery, Wentworth,NH.
Gary's family would like to thank Hospice, especially Donna and Myrna for their warm and compassionate care they provided during Gary's illness.
