Frederick K Anderson

Fred was born Jan 17, 1936 and grew up in Milton, NY, before moving to Poughkeepsie with his family.
He was educated in Poughkeepsie Public schools and in 1953, graduated from Poughkeepsie High
School. He was an avid learner who earned an Assoc Degree from Dutchess Community College,
Bachelors Degrees from SUNY New Paltz, Masters Degrees from New York University and University of
Connecticut, and finally earning his Ph.D. from New York University.

While pursuing his studies, Fred worked at Wallace's Store in Poughkeepsie for several years. He also
worked at Standard Gage for twenty years in the Engineering Management Department. After receiving
his Ph.D., Fred was happiest teaching as an adjunct professor at Marist College and SUNY New Paltz.

Sadly, Fred died Tuesday, July 2, after a short illness.

Fred was the eighth and last child of Stott and Grace Anderson, who predeceased him. He was also
predeceased by his sisters, Louise Levy, Virginia Anderson, Edith Mayse, Elizabeth Anderson and his
brothers George Anderson and Richard Anderson.

Survivors include his sister Joanne Swanson, nephew, Kurt Swanson, nieces Barbara Swanson, Melinda
Mara, Micki Bessken and several great nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.

Those wishing to make donations in Fred's name, may do so to the charity of their choice. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
