Firman H. Miller, 90 of Stanfordville, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.

Born in Tivoli, NY on November 27, 1927, he was the son of Herbert and Alice Elliott Miller. On May 19, 1951 in Poughkeepsie, he married Nellie Ermo. Mrs. Miller predeceased him on January 21, 2004.

Firman was employed as an aide at Hudson River State Hospital for many years until his retirement.

Firman is survived by his daughter and son in law, Lori and Richard Downing; his grandchildren, Sandra Miller, Peter Miller and wife Jaymie, Thomas Flanagan and wife Shannen, Margaret Flanagan, James Downing and wife Michelle, Douglas Downing and Robyn Downing; his great grandchildren, Jacob and Colton Downing, Lucas, Christopher, Bethany, Alexya and Johnathan Miller, Amy Young, and Bryce and Spencer Flanagan; sister, Louise Beneway; brother, Paul Miller; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 children; Captain Peter Miller, Cyndi Miller-Foley and Francis Miller.

Visitation will be Monday, June 4 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, June 5 at 10am from St. Joseph's Church, North Ave., Millbrook. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bangall, NY.
