Elizabeth V.
Bruschini
Apr 2, 1938 — Sep 21, 2025
Pleasant Valley
On September 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, Elizabeth "Betty" Bruschini crossed over to join God and her many loved one who have gone before. Elizabeth was born on April 2, 1938, to Charles and Hazel (Krum) Lamoree. She was the youngest of 5 children, including her brother Vincent who passed before she was born. Elizabeth adored her 3 sisters, Marie Conger, Patricia Conger and Eleanor Lozier who were also her lifelong best friends. Elizabeth graduated from Roosevelt High School and SUNY New Paltz where she earned her teaching degree. She taught first grade at Fishkill Plains Elementary. She would often talk of her students even after the passage of many years.
On February 3rd, 1962, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Robert A. Bruschini. They had the kind of marriage envied by others – always supporting each other, laughing and always holding hands. Elizabeth loved to point out the little yellow cottage in Misquamicut, Rhode Island, the place where Robert first told her he loved her and a place that remained precious to her until the end. Elizabeth and Robert went on to have 3 children, Beth Bruschini, Robert Bruschini and Jill Bruschini. Elizabeth left teaching because she wanted nothing more than to love and nurture her children. She often said that she wanted to be the one to "plant the seeds" in the minds, hearts and souls of her babies. Each was blessed and lucky that she did.
Elizabeth's life was not without challenges. She suffered the devastating loss of Robert when he was only 47 years old and she, herself, endured more than her share of health crises, many of which might certainly have ended her life. All that knew her marveled at how she courageously forged on with dignity and strength, still finding beauty and happiness in life's little things and moments. She was so often referred to as "our little Energizer Bunny."
Elizabeth was blessed with 6 beautiful grandchildren – Samantha (Stuewer) Armentano, Lexi Stuewer, Christian Stuewer, Theodore Bruschini, Brennan Bruschini and Robert Bruschini. Her grandchildren - and seemingly the rest of the world – called her "Nanny" and she adored each of one them. She loved being a grandmother and felt it a privilege to be involved in raising her grandchildren and being a central, important part of their lives. On October 24, 2024, she was blessed with her first great-grandchild, Easton Armentano with whom she shared a special bond. She was always able to rock Easton to sleep in her safe and loving arms, as she had for all of the family's babies that came before.
It is now Nanny's time to sleep. All who knew you know how much you deserve the rest. Your family is who they are because of the undying unconditional love you shared. All pray that you know the beautiful imprint you left on the lives of your family and on the lives of so many of those who had the privilege to know you. It will never fade.
