Eleanor Coffey, 91, from Poughkeepsie passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday April 7, 2016. Born and raised in Brooklyn NY on February 3, 1925. She was the daughter of the late James and Eleanora Lafferty, natives of Ireland. On October 21, 1950 she married the love of her life the late Gerard Coffey.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved children Eileen, Geri, Joe and Peggy and their spouses Roger Kroll, Bob Holm( deceased), Maryellen Coffey and Richard O'Brien, 9 Cherished grandchildren Lauren, Lisa, Kimberly, Richie, Marielle, Ian, Sean and Caitlin and Jillian, 4 loving great grandchildren Ashley, Dylan, Myla and Austin.
Eleanor will be remembered as a kind, loving and generous person and the matriarch of our loving family, She was greatly loved by many and was someone who we looked up to.  She was always a tolerant, gracious, kind, giving and fun loving person with a great contagious laugh.  She will be greatly missed but her legacy will live on through our memories.

Visitation will be held on Sunday April 10, 2016 from 2-5 & 7-9pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main Street, Pleasant Valley.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 11, 2016 at 10am at St. Mary's Church, Poughkeepsie with interment to follow alongside her beloved Gerard in St. Peter's Cemetery.
