Egidio Pettinella of Hopewell Junction passed away on June 23, 2016 at Mid Hudson Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.  He was 66.

Born on January 9, 1950 in Ripi, Italy to the late Lino and Anna Conciatori Pettinella.

Egidio grew up in Italy until he immigrated to the United States with his mother and brother when he was 10.  After settling into the Bronx with his father, who was already in New York, he met his wife Linda Broccoli.  Years later they grew into love for each other and on October 6, 1973, they married at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle.

Egidio and his wife owned Gino's Café in Fishkill for over 40 years, until their retirement in 2011.

He was an avid racquetball and tennis player.  He enjoyed watching baseball and soccer.  Egidio also enjoyed being outdoors hiking, traveling and taking care of his home.  He was a history buff, opera fan and avid reader.  He was so very proud of his children and enjoyed getting together with them laughing and playing board games. He felt blessed.

Egidio is survived by: his devoted wife of 42 years, Linda; his loving children Catherine Brenneman and her husband Jay, Laurie Zorn and her husband Alex, and Michael Lino Pettinella and his wife Cassandra; his precious grandchildren Wyatt, Ava, Elise, Emma, Lorelei, and one more blessing on the way; his dear brother John Pettinella and his wife Anna and their family.

On Sunday, June 26, 2016, relatives and friends are invited from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home (900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction).   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Columba Church (835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction).  Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
