Edward J. Straley, 81, passed away on January 23, 2017. Edward was born on January 9, 1936 in Beacon, NY, to the late Joseph and Veronica (Fixer) Straley. He was educated in St. Joachim's School and graduated from Wappingers Central School. Ed went on to be a truck driver, driving for numerous companies. He was a 40 plus year Teamster, of the Local 445, of Newburgh. He was also a lifelong member of the Whortekill Rod & Gun Club, in Hopewell. Ed loved to fish and enjoyed trips to the casinos.

He is survived by his three sons; Shane, David, and,  William "Billy" Straley, one daughter Kelly Zindren, and his granddaughter Rachel Zindren.  He is also survived by three brothers, Richard "Buzz", Phillip, and Thomas Straley, and one sister, Barbara Hamm.  Edward was also predeceased by his sister Audrey Piacente.  In addition he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his companion Joan Aquino. He is also survived by his former wife and lifelong friend, Dorothy Rattigan.

Visitation will be held on January 27, 2017 , from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY
