Edward L. Corbat of Beacon passed away peacefully on November 13, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center at the age of 79. He was born on January 24, 1936 in New York City to the late Edward and Helene Corbat. Eddie worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years as a letter carrier and prior to that, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Eddie enjoyed collecting valuables, including Lionel trains and coins but he had a passion for stamp collecting. He was also a great history buff and he and Alice enjoyed their frequent outings to West Point. He was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his beloved wife Alice Corbat, loving children Susan A. Chin and her partner Lee Ehmke, Leo A. Chin and his wife Stephanie and cherished grandchildren Andrew and Sophia Chin. He is also survived by his sister Marie Gough. Friends may call on Tuesday November 17, 2015 from 4-8pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at 10am at St. Joachim Church, Beacon, NY.
