Douglas G. Davis Jr, of Pleasant Valley passed away peacefully on September 21, 2015 at HYP Hudson Valley Hospital Center. He was 77. Born on May 27, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, to the late Douglas G. Davis Sr and Ethel Simpson Davis. Doug graduated from Wappingers High School and was an Eagle Scout earlier in life. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he was a Radio Operator. Doug was an avid fisherman and loved to spend his retirement fishing, along with watching eagles and wolves He is survived by his loving children, Jeff Davis of Pleasant Valley, Jo-Anne Winzer and her husband Glenn of Vernon, New Jersey, Dianna Lynn Gaskin and her husband Ed of Gulfport Mississippi, David Garcia and his wife Michelle of Olympia Washington, James Garcia of Stockton California, 5 cherished grandchildren and 7 loving great grand children. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and his loving friend and companion, Carol Secor. Douglas was predeceased by his 1st wife Judith Ann Vanderbush Davis in 1976 and Janice M. Davis in 2012 and his sister Barbara Cobb Kester. Friends may call on Wednesday September 23, 2015 from 4-8pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 24, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
