Doris Muriel Niles, 90, of Poughkeepsie passed away peacefully Friday, September 30, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Doris was born on August 10, 1932 in Shrub Oak, NY to the late Warner and Thelma (Bogart) Tompkins. She spent most of her life in Poughkeepsie. She graduated from Vassar Brothers School of Nursing in 1952 where she became a Registered Nurse for many years. She married the late Robert V. Niles on April 11, 1953. Mr. Niles passed away on October 21, 2015.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Leslie and her husband, Tom Jackson; her five grandchildren, Meghan Tooley-Graniero, her husband Jeffrey Graniero, Katelyn Tooley, Brian Delsanto, Scott Cornell and Carolyn Cornell; great granddaughter, Isabelle Czerwinski; son in law, Eric Delsanto and brothers, Warner and Roland Tompkins. She was predeceased by her daughters, Valarie Niles and Kelly Delsanto; and sister, Dorothy Travis.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 from 2 to 6 PM. The Funeral will take place Monday, October 3, 2022 at 12PM at Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Satterlee Place, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 with internment to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
