Obituary

Donna B. Wohr, 90, a long time resident of Poughkeepsie and Fishkill, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Woodland Pond at New Paltz.
Born in Arlington,MA on August  18, 1926, she was the daughter of Robert K. and Fidessa Edwards Brown. Donna was a graduate of Massachusetts School of Art in 1948. She then worked in the Art Department of Farrington Mfg. Co. in Jamaica Plains,MA from 1948-1952. On February 5, 1949 in Somerville, MA., she married Thomas Wohr. Mr. Wohr predeceased her on March 4, 2007.
Donna was active in Fishkill United Methodist Church as a Sunday School teacher for many years, choir member, recording secretary Counsel on Ministries, UMW and served on several other committees. She was a former member of DCAA and IBM Art Group. Donna has exhibited and been the recipient of awards locally and in NYC and Maine. She taught after school art classes for the Junior League for many years and summer Art Classes for children in her home. She conducted an Art Workshop 2 days per week for 22 years for Dutchess County Association for Senior Citizens in Poughkeepsie. Additionally Donna volunteered at Vassar Hospital for over 20 years as well as Wappingers Falls Meals on Wheels.
Donna along with her husband enjoyed traveling, biking and camping over the years.
Donna is survived by her son Wayne Wohr and his wife Suzanne of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Scott Wohr and his wife Wendy and  Stephanie Stephens; her great grandchildren, Brandon Walus, Stephen Meyers and Jonathan and Sarah O'Brien. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Wohr in 1988 and her brother, Robert Brown in 1977.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 9 from 4-7 pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main St., Fishkill. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10 at 11 am from Fishkill United  Methodist Church, 38 Broad St., Fishkill. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
