Donald A. DeBerardinis, of Fishkill, NY (formerly of Ossining, NY) passed on Thursday after a brief illness. Known to his friends, co-workers and generations of young athletes as Don DeBar (Sr.), he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Marasco DeBerardinis, 6 children, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and his faithful companion Roxy. He was predeceased by his 6 brothers - Frank, John, Michael, James, Robert and Eugene DeBerardinis. His two sisters, Julia Cheche and Rosemarie Moses, survive. Surviving children are Donald J. DeBerardinis and spouse Barbara Corti of Ossining, Joseph C. DeBerardinis and spouse Laurie Milano of Savannah, GA, Joni Ryan and spouse Michael Ryan of Fishkill, Debra DeBerardinis and spouse Tarek Hamdanieh of Fishkill, David J. DeBerardinis and spouse Kristina DeBerardinis of Fishkill and Matthew J. DeBerardinis of Hopewell Jct., NY. Surviving grandchildren are Jennifer Smith, Jessi Ryan, Heather Walton, James Walton and David Donald DeBerardinis. Surviving great-grandchildren are Yasmine DeBar, Joselyn DeBar and I'talia DeBar. Don graduated from Ossining schools and was a member of the OHS Class of 1950. He served in the US Air Force at Hill AFB, Ogden, UT. Don was manufacturing superintendent at P.R. Mallory Battery in North Tarrytown, NY until 1968, when he began a career in the title insurance business. He worked as a title examiner until his passing. Don was also involved in a number of youth athletic programs - he was a co-founder of the Town of Ossining Junior Basketball League and coached, supervised and officiated for dozens of little league baseball, football and basketball teams, while his wife Barbara drove and fed the kids by the hundreds. Friends may call on Tuesday September 8, 2015 from 4-8pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home 1028 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday September 9, 2015 at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill.
