Obituary

On Thursday February 25 th Dolores Garrison loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully. She was born on October 15, 1928 in Poughkeepsie. She was the daughter of the late Antonio & Cristina Leo. Dolores was a lifetime resident of Poughkeepsie graduating from Poughkeepsie High School in 1947.
On October 10, 1948 she married Cornelius A. Garrison at Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. He predeceased her on August 13, 1996.
Dolores lived an active life, she enjoyed playing tennis with friends and her brothers. She enjoyed bowling and participated in bowling leagues for many years. She loved to travel, especially when it was a trip to Italy to visit family. She was always up for a dance with her husband. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She could always be found cooking a big pot of sauce and if you were lucky, she would make you meatballs. Dolores worked for over 25 years at Weight Watchers at various locations in the area. Dolores was a member of the Red Oaks Mill Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Dolores is survived by her sister Joan, her children Michael (Judith) Garrison of Highland, Theresa (Raymond) Anson of Hyde Park, Neil (Gail) Garrison of Poughkeepsie, & Kevin (Sarah) Garrison of Sebastopol CA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Matthew, Dustin, Todd, Tara, Owen, Cristina, Katie and Arlie Mae.  Eight Great-Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by Grandson Adam Jessen, her brothers John, Lawrence & Anthony Leo, Sisters Mary Wilkins, Rose DeStefano and Madaline Hines.
Friends and family may attend mass on Wednesday March 3 rd at 10:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Church, 11 Mt. Carmel Place Poughkeepsie. A mass will be celebrated by Bishop Gerardo Colacicco. Burial to follow at Dolores's final resting place beside her husband at St. Peters Cemetery located at 171 Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie St. Peter Cemetery.
