Dianne Yerks, 80 of Pleasant Valley, passed away on December 1, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on March 9, 1941 in Vermont, she was adopted by Raymond and Hazel Bean. Dianne grew up in Rochdale area of Poughkeepsie and was a long time resident of Pleasant Valley, NY. Dianne  married to Bruce Yerks (Bruce TV) in 1960.
Dianne enjoyed socializing with many dinners out and dancing with Bruce. Early on she started Cookie House Ceramics in PV, later she became an EMT and LPN working in various nursing homes and corrections facilities. Dianne and Bruce were seasonal campers their whole adult lives and managed Ellis Woods campground in Wingdale, NY for a few years.  She enjoyed Japanese flower arranging and enjoying her greenhouse where she grew lovely orchids.
She leaves behind her husband Bruce at The Pines, Poughkeepsie. Todd  (Marilyn) Yerks and granddaughter Rachel Yerks  of Sharon, CT.,  daughter  Ren (David) Adams and grandchildren Tara and Ian of Millbrook, NY., sister in law Phyllis and Donald Haight of Fla. as well as many nieces and nephews. We thank The Pines for her wonderful care and the nice friends she met there. We thank Vassar Brothers Medical Center for her dignified end of life care.  If inclined, please donate to a nonprofit for adults with disabilities to brighten their day. Dianne's grandson Ian suffered a TBI in 2010 and we know how limited the finances actually trickle down to the recipients. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
