Della F. Wing, a lifelong resident of Millbrook, NY died Friday, May 28 ^th at her home. Born on January 11, 1927 in Millbrook, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Della Sutherland Sherow. Della was a member of the Llyal Memorial Federated Church in Millbrook. She graduated from Millbrook Memorial High School.

On June 1, 1947, she married William G. Wing, who predeceased her in 1997. Della is survived by her two sons, William G. Wing and his wife, Irene and Stephen A. Wing. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Kelly, Cynthia, Amanda and Tamara, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she was predeceased by her brother Willard Sherow and sisters, Mary Parks, Dorothy Williams, Virginia Wing and Marie Vincent.

Della worked for many years in the Millbrook Central Schools cafeterias. Her great love of children was evident as she made the holidays special there, decorating and even dressing up at Halloween.

Family and friends will always remember the many great times they spent at Della and Willie's home on Valley Farm Rd. Her love of family, friends and cooking for them brought many together including early morning breakfasts for hunters; holidays, picnics and any other occasion that brought people together gave her great joy.

The family is appreciative of the daily help provided to Della by her good friend and neighbor Bob Ferris.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at Nine Partners Cemetery on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11AM.
