Daniel "Danny" Colucci passed away leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and a love for his family. Anyone who knew Danny knows that his heart belonged to his sweetheart and late wife, Ginny, his children, beloved late daughter, Beth, his dear son, Daniel, and his beloved grandson, Sebastian. He is survived by his son, Daniel, (wife CeCe) and his grandson, Sebastian. He also leaves behind his brother, Nicholas, many cousins and nieces and close cousins, Nicholas, Salvatore, Ann and Vito, brother- in law Michael (wife)Irene and sister- in- law Sarah. Danny had so many loving and wonderful friends: Walter, Barbara and Tony, Theresa, Laraine, Pete and Julie, Valerie, Iris and Louie, Barbara and Jim. Anna, Gerry, Arthur and Adam, Richie and Virginia were considered family. Growing up in the Bronx, New York, Danny learned how to fight at an early age. His tenacity was legendary: at just 16 years old, he boxed in the Golden Gloves and was matched against a 24-year-old opponent. Though he was knocked down in the first round he fought gallantly. The New York News even featured the bout, famously dubbing him The Lion-Hearted Colucci. Danny also loved to tell stories of his past experience growing up in the Bronx. If he had an audience, like at a wedding or family party, the stories kept coming. Danny honorably served in the United States Army with an immense pride for his country. Professionally, he spent many dedicated years working as a skilled carpenter. In retirement Danny found joy working in his many garages built by him. He shared his love of woodworking with his protégés Vito and Arthur who lovingly called him Uncle Danny. Both received numerous tools, books and carpentry lessons. In the past few years Danny fell in love with gardening. Danny loved visiting family and friends, watching sports, listening to music and enjoying a good Italian meal! Danny and Ginny raised two beautiful children. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, October 30 at 11 am from St. Joseph’s Church, 15 North Ave., Millbrook. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Millbrook. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook.
