Obituary

Connie Angelo (Angels) passed away peacefully on January 24, 2017 at the age of 96. She was born in Staten Island, NY to Peter and Eva Chrampanis where Peter started the Chrampanis Farm. Tragically Peter died shortly after Connie's birth. Connie's inner strength carried her through her difficult childhood and was rewarded when she met her husband, the love of her life, Jack Angelo (Angels) in Beacon NY where they resided. She would suffer tragic heartache with his death at the young age of 46 on October 1, 1966. Again her strength carried her forward to lead her family as well as assuming control of the business Jack began, Table Talk Pie Distributors of Poughkeepsie. Connie proved to be an incredible business woman and for twenty years until her retirement she ran her company gaining the respect of all who knew her. Respect for one another was her life's credo. She always gave it and always received it. Her volunteer services with children at Glenham Elementary School and at St. Frances Hospital's Turning Point Center in Beacon were important elements of her retirement years. She was an avid ballroom dancer , enjoyed casino trips with her friends and especially loved the many summers she spent on the island of Lemnos, Greece connecting with her extended family. Dementia gradually took her from us and in her later years she resided at Wingate in Beacon. We, her family, will be eternally grateful for the very special staff at Wingate for their dedication, love and care. Connie was predeceased by her father, Peter; mother, Eva, husband, Jack; brothers Frank and Lew; sons-in-law Bill Phillips and Ray Faust; niece and nephew-in-law, Eve and David Donigian. Through the trials, tragedies and successes of her life, most important to Connie was her family to whom she was an incredible inspiration, mentor and matriarch. Connie is survived by her children, Barbara Phillips, Gus Angels (Donna), AnnMarie Faust (George Balzer); her grandchildren, Beth Angels Dow, Nikki Angels Stringer (Christian), Connie Dutra (Rich), Bill Phillips, Jacklyn Faust Maietta (Jesse), Michael Faust (Danielle); great grandchildren, Marisa and Kris Dow, Dylan and Cameryn Dutra, Hudson and Duke Faust, Raegan Maietta; nephews Rich Chrampanis (Phillis), Bob Chrampanis, Ray Chrampanis (Cindy); Nieces, Georgia Peterson and Dessie Hennion; along with several grand and great nieces and nephews. Through her long illness visits by her great grandchildren brought her the most joy and drew out the bright light within her. Connie's family will receive visitors at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill NY on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 28th 1:00pm at the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 S. Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie NY. Interment will follow at the Fishkill Rural Cemetary, 801 Route 9, Fishkill NY. In lieu flowers, donations may be made in Connie's name to the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 S.
