Claudine Lavoie, 43, of Beacon, NY passed away to eternal life on October 24, 2016 after a long battle with thymoma cancer. Before her illness, Claudine was a department manager for Michael's in Livonia, Michigan. Claudine was a graduate of John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, NY, and SUNY Potsdam, where she had a degree in fine art. Claudine made art in many forms, including oil pastels, oil painting, metalsmithing, Jewelry making, and digital art. She spent two years volunteering with Capuchin Franciscan Volunteer Corp in Milwaukee and Detroit. During her illness, Claudine strove to reach out to people in person and online through her gift of writing and compassion.

Claudine is survived by her mother and step-father, Mary and Michael Cahill, her sister Jennifer Lavoie, her half-brothers Steven Lavoie and his wife Joyce, Chris Lavoie and his wife Nena, her step-brothers Michael Cahill Jr. and his wife Debbie, Steven Cahill, and her step-sister Linda Herlihy and her husband Kevin. She very much loved being Aunt Claudine to several nieces and nephews. Claudine also considered her friends in the SCA and her coworkers at Michaels her family by choice. Claudine was predeceased by her father, Stanley Lavoie, her half-brother Michael Lavoie, her step-sister Patricia Cahill, and her sister-in-law Rosemarie Cahill.

Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 7:00 to 9:00pm, at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 12:00pm at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill Street, Dover Plains, NY 12522. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Beacon, NY.

Memorial donations may be made in Claudine's name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center- Rare Cancer Research at MSKCC.org or to IDTTYS.org.
