Chauncey Perry Colwell "Skip" Dickson, Jr. 89 of Millbrook, NY passed on October 7, 2025 after a disastrous fall on August 12, 2025 that left him paralyzed.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 9, 1936 to Chauncey Sr. and Mildred Dickson. He attended a two-room schoolhouse in Verbank, then Millbrook High School at the Thorne Building. He graduated from ATI Canton in Canton, NY in 1956. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961.
In 1961, he met his wife Alice and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. They operated C. C. Dickson Jr. Electric – Plumbing – Heating for 38 years. Skip volunteered with the Union Vale Fire Co. for 63 years – 60 of that was active. He also had over 30 years with the Union Vale Ambulance Corp / Rescue Squad. He was a member of the Lions Club for 40 years and as a member avidly sold chocolate Easter bunnies for them. He served on the Board of Directors of the Millbrook Historical Society for many years.
Skip and Alice enjoyed cruising and other trips including Cape Cod and the southern coast of Maine as well as bus trips to NYC, Pennsylvania, Maryland and National Parks.

Skip only drank coffee at the Millbrook Diner for many years. You could often encounter him welcoming visitors to Millbrook. He enjoyed telling people how he was a sophomore in high school when the current Diner was relocated to Millbrook.
He is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Kelly Dickson, granddaughter Haley Dickson, daughter-in-law Tracy Dickson. He was predeceased by his son Perry Dickson III. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Union Vale Fire Co.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12 from 2-6 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13 at 11 am from the funeral home followed by interment in Verbank Cemetery with military honors.
