Charles Thomas "Tom" Lape, 86, of Millbrook, New York, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026 in Fishkill, New York. Tom was born on January 7th, 1940 in Peekskill, New York. He was the son of the late Charles Nicholas Lape and Alice Marie Haight Lape. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Janice Elizabeth Tompkins Lape. He is survived by his seven children: Kim Elizabeth Koon (Frank), Thomas Charles Lape(Lisa), Maureen Ann Call(Anson), Allison Marie Lape-Karpf(Roger), William "Bill" Kenneth Lape(Jody), Matthew John Lape(Devon)and Christopher Daniel Lape(Fabia). Tom has 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. He has many nieces and nephews all around the country. He is survived by his brother, Robert Edward Lape, predeceased by his sister Barbara Ann Lape and his granddaughter Rachel Marie Lape.

Tom spent much of his life in Millbrook, where he raised his large family. He took great pride in his children and instilled in them the value of hard work. He was a dedicated Sheet Metal Worker and proud member of Local 38. Tom was truly a jack of all trades. He was known for his strong work ethic and generously shared his talents to support friends, family, and his community. Tom was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where his faith was an important part of his life. Whenever he was asked how he was, he always responded, 'Wonderful!'

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, April 23, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 24, at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. All services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 204 Spackenkill Road, Poughkeepsie, New York. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook.
