Charlene Ann Hohwart Gay passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 12, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. She was born to the late Joan Rossi and Peter Enea, in Yonkers, NY October 20, 1952.

Charlene was a devoted Oncology Nurse, retired from Westchester County Medical Center. In her retirement, she continued dedicating her time to help others by volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was active and cherished in her church (Lyall Memorial Federated Church) and Millbrook, NY community. Charlene adored her farm life and family traditions that were always built around those she loved. She created a Christmas Eve tradition like none other, loved travel, golf, gardening, football, cooking with her husband, and just enjoying time with friends and loved ones.
She leaves behind her beloved husband Peter Gay, two sons Christopher and William Hohwart, Sister Diane Micoli (deceased husband Jack Micoli), Peter Enea (Karen Enea), stepchildren John Gay, Brian Gay (Eileen Javellana), Karen Gay, Kathleen Skelton, Melissa Munoz (David Munoz), Amy Gay (Matthew Burrows), 14 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and several furry friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16 from 5 to 8 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. Funeral Services will take place during visitation.
