Obituary

Carolyn M. (Hritz) Tague passed away July 11, 2021, at MidHudson Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Carolyn was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on October 1, 1948, to Edward F. and Mary E. (Kearney) Hritz who both previously deceased her.  She continued, throughout her life, to identify with her New England "roots" and looked forward to the many summer vacations she enjoyed there.  She graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School and later received a Bachelor of Arts in English from SUNY New Paltz.
On August 24, 1969, she married Bart W. Tague whom she met during their college years when he attended, and graduated from, Marist College.  They settled in Poughkeepsie, where she delighted in her role of doting sister, aunt, and great-aunt.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Hritz-Seifts and Nancy's husband, James Seifts, as well as her niece, Julie Fagan, Julie's husband Joseph III, and children Lilly and Joseph IV; her nephew, Adam Seifts and Adam's wife Kara, and children Aria and Cameron.  Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Kathryn Vignali, Kathryn's husband Remo, and their daughter Erin.
After her retirement from Dutchess County government where she worked in the role of Community Liaison, Carolyn pursued her interests in reading, gardening and politics, donating generously to her many favorite charities.  She was an avid Giants fan, as well as an indefatigable cheerleader at her niece's and nephew's many softball and baseball games.
At her request, cremation has taken place.  There will be no calling hours, and a private memorial service will be held in the future.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The Wounded Warrior Project .
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, Poughkeepsie.
