Carol Heady Ferris, cherished mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on February 18, 1936, Carol was welcomed into the world by her loving parents, William Heady and Anna Mae Butts Heady. Her journey through life was marked by her hard working spirit, her deep love for family and animals and an enormous heart that touched all who knew her. Carol’s life was a testament to dedication and love. She was predeceased by her husband Percy Ferris Jr. and her beloved son Percy T (Ted) Ferris. Despite these profound losses, Carol’s strength and resilience shone through as she continued to nurture and support her family. She is survived by her devoted sons Leonard (Lou) Ferris and Jay Ferris and her beloved daughter Sandra Vandewater (Lance), as well as James Intrieri who she always referred to as “one of her boys”. Carol’s legacy also lives on through her treasured grandchildren, Chelsea Carole, Teresa Baker, and Zachery Ferris, each of whom carries forward her spirit and love. In her final years, Carol faced life challenges with grace and courage.
