Carmine Marino Palombo Jr. was alone in his home when he passed away quietly in his sleep Friday night, but he was never alone during his life. Our big brother was beloved by his family, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Born on December 16th, 1952, as the first child of Carmine Marino Palombo Sr. and Marie Sadie Palombo – To say that Carmine was unique would be an understatement – he lived a life that few people could imagine, and even fewer dared to. Our big brother was draped in controversy throughout his life, tormented by tragedy and death. However, he never stopped being someone who helps others. A Vietnam Navy Veteran, that saw his brothers in arms killed days after he returned to the world. Only years later to have his wife Jackie 36, and his three sons Tony 10, Bobby 6 and Nicholas 21months tragically taken in a home fire the day before Thanksgiving 1989. Life is measured by the scars and calluses a soul can bear. Our big brother had his share and more of the torment. Never giving in to the weight of the load – never given up on what he thought was right. To say Carmine was opinionated would be an understatement- defiant – stubborn-entrepreneurial – risk taker- self-supporting – always questioning authority but never falling out of formation. He was what we all have come to call an "American". Carmine is finally at peace, no more nightmares, no more pain. He leaves behind countless friends, his family and our understanding of his plight. He is survived by all who read this, including his closest friend, Suzanne Galanos. Rest in peace Carmine Marino Palombo.
