Obituary

Cameron Stewart Reynolds of LaGrange entered into rest on January 1, 2021 at Renaissance Rehabilitation Center in Staatsburg, New York after a short illness. He was 93 ½.
Son of the late Stewart James and Marquerite Smith Reynolds, Cameron was born on July 21, 1927 in Peekskill, New York.  On May 14, 1949 he married Roberta Shepherd at the First Presbyterian Church in Poughkeepsie.  Roberta predeceased him on September 11, 1952. On February 2, 1958, he married Dianna Wright at the First Presbyterian Church in Poughkeepsie.  Dianna predeceased him on August 3, 2006.
Cameron grew up on the Reynolds family farm located on Upton Lake in Clinton Corners. He managed a large chicken farm of about 1,200 laying hens. Cameron attended Pine Plains Central School and was a member of the F.F.A.  He entered the Eshlemen Feed Essay Contest and won 1 st place in New York State and 7 th place in the country. When Cameron was in high school, he won the Silver Metal in 1942 in a Dutchess County track meet placing 2 nd in the 880 yard race.
Cameron served his country in the U.S. 7 th Army- 6 th P.S.  Ordinance in Germany and received a Good Conduct medal, a National Defense Service medal and an occupation of Germany medal.
Cameron worked for many years in the family business of S.J. Reynolds Inc. a Chrysler dealership in Poughkeepsie. He retired from the family business April 1, 1977. He met many people over the years selling them reliable Chrysler products. He also worked for Ring Real Estate in Hyde Park.
Cameron was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Salt Point for many years. He served on the Board of Deacons, was an usher and took up collection weekly with his daughter Sylvia. Cameron was always willing to help with general repairs jobs around his beloved church. Cameron was a member of American Legion Post 1302 in the Arlington area of Poughkeepsie.
Cameron is survived by his son the Reverend Dr. Bryon K. Reynolds of Lock Haven, Pa., his daughter Sylvia Marquerite Reynolds of Rhinebeck, NY, his grandchildren Brock, Bryon and Brianna Reynolds, several great grandchildren and his sister Beverly Emsley and her husband of Winter Park, Florida.
Our thanks to ALL the staff at the Renaissance Nursing Center in Staatsburg for their loving care of Cameron. You brought out the best in him!!
Calling hours will be from 10-11AM Tuesday January 5 th at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley, NY.  A memorial service led by Cameron's son the Reverend Dr. Bryon K. Reynolds will be held during this time.  In compliance with NYS guidelines, wearing masks and social distancing is required and capacity is limited. Attendees should be prepared for a possible waiting period..Burial will be at the Shrub Oak Cemetery in Shrub Oak, New York at 12:30PM on Tuesday January 5 th for immediate family led by Cameron's son the Reverend Bryon K. Reynolds.  The Honor Guard will close the graveside services.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Westminster Presbyterian Church, PO Box #271 Salt Point, NY 12578.Arrangements are under the care of Allen Funeral Home.
