Bettie L. Brinson of Fishkill passed away suddenly on October 30, 2015 at St. Lukes Hospital. She was 79. Born on November 1, 1935 in Lake Waccaman, North Carolina to the late Pearl and Ethel Daniels Lavender. Bettie was a graduate of the College of New Rochelle and received her Masters Degree from Herbert H. Lehman College. She was a retired New York City School Teacher for 35 years. She enjoyed traveling, singing, working with her students and getting dressed up to go out. She is survived by her loving children Allyson C. Brinson and Darryl E. Martin, Dear Brothers James, Louis, Wilson, Erskine and Pearl Lavender. Her sister Shirley Lavender. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Bettie left this life with the hope of Resurrection and of seeing and being with all of us again. She was predeceased by her son Bernard Brinson and husband Fletcher Brinson.
