Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Bernard Salem Nassr, a cherished man to so many, who went on to his reward on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024.

Born on March 28,1931, Bernie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, and colleague whose kindness, strength, and warmth touched the lives of all who knew him. Although not born in the United States, he became a citizen, fought for this country, finished college, and furthered his education in dentistry. Known for being the kindest dentist in Bay Ridge, where he practiced for over 30 years, he was always giving back.  Bernie met Lorraine and that was the beginning of the forever love story that would continue for almost 60 years. Bernie was known for his boundless generosity, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family, faith, career, and to his community.

For the past 14 years he and mommy lived in Millbrook, NY with Jeanmarie, Evan and Aimee, where they created a new community of church and friends that they loved sharing time with.

Bernie found joy in life's simplest moments and had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and loved. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a quiet presence, Bernie brought light into the lives of those around him. His unwavering strength, steadiness, and dedication has been a comfort to all in his life. His love of sports, playing cards, going to the beach, spending time with family, and dancing was something he shared with all of us throughout his life.   He loved a good party for sure!

A devoted spouse, parent, and grandparent, Bernie is survived by his daughters, Stephanie and Jeanmarie, the light in his life, his grandchildren Evan and Aimee, his son-in-law, Angelo, Kendra, Evan's wife, and bonus grandchildren and their spouses, Virginia, AJ, Bri, their baby Ashton, and Anthony and Tia. He will be forever missed and remembered by family, friends, and all whose lives that were enriched by Bernie's love and kindness.
