Bernadette Monnier, 82, died Tuesday October 6, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Ms Monnier formerly of Fort Salonga, resided in Dutchess County for nine years. Ms Monnier was a graduate of Hunter College and St. John's University and worked as a reference librarian for 40 years at Plainview Old Bethpage Library. Born in 1933 in New York City, daughter of Alfred and Marie (Salles) Monnier. Survivors include her beloved sister Elisabeth Vandelli, nieces and nephews Joan, Raymond, Marie, and Renee Carter, Gabrielle Katz, Stephen, Donacine, and Marc Vandelli, Elise Hodgson, Jeanne Spangler and Anita Holland. Survived by many loving great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Lucette Carter and John Louis Monnier, nephew William H. Carter III and niece Annina Carter. Bernadette's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish, 59 Church Street, Kings Park, New York.
