Asa Beckwith, 96, of Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was born on December 29, 1927, in Stanfordville to the late George Calvin and Eleanor Cornelius Beckwith.

Asa was in the Army Airforce during WWII. He attended Cornell University and worked for IBM as a Computer Programmer. He enjoyed blacksmithing and being a Curator for the Dutchess County Fair Century Museum Village. On July 2, 1948 he married the late, Jean LaDue. Jean passed in 2016.

Asa is survived by his children, David Beckwith of Pleasant Valley, Ruth MacLarion of Pleasant Valley and Mark Beckwith of Poughkeepsie; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 11 to 12 PM at New Beginnings Church, with funeral services starting at 12 PM, 35 DeGarmo Rd., Poughkeepsie.

The burial will be private.
