Annmarie Savery knew what she was sure of. That's for certain. And she didn't mind telling you all about it.

Annmarie Leonard was born on March 11, 1949 to a big Irish family -- the youngest of seven siblings. She was a New Yorker through and through, born in Manhattan, on the U pper W est S ide, and went to Holy Name there, with her best friend Patsy and Patsy's husband Kevin. They lived their childhoods together, through Annmarie going on to Cathedral High School and Patsy going to Blessed Sacrament. They worked together as day camp counselors in the summers, and remained best friends through good times and bad.

She met Leif Savery at work, in Manhattan, and they married in 1969, and moved to Brooklyn. Victoria came along a few years later, when Annmarie had started working in the city. She had a great career, as one of those "worth their weight in gold" executive assistants that are now urban legends. She worked at New York magazine, then moved over to the Star and ended her career at Fox after she caught Rupert Murdoch's eye. She was certainly rooted in the world of gossip...but ironically wasn't one.

She was an "ets" fan -- Mets and Jets, which means she was fiercely loyal and able to weather any storm, indeed, she thrived on weathering storms. She loved the Mets and loved watching games with her mother, and later, her daughter. We're quite sure that the reason they fizzled out this year is that they were simply heartbroken without her. She also loved Bruce Springsteen, great Italian food, even mediocre Chinese food, and she had a weakness for animals -- bears for the stuffed variety and cats for companions.

Mostly she loved Vicki; they loved to giggle together, chat about pop culture (she would NOT have been happy about Brangelina) and speculate about The Next Great Show.

She leaves behind siblings Maureen (the late Brion), Juliette (the late John), Eddie (Nancy), Joan (Larry), Johnny (Margie) and the late Richard (Chris). Nieces and nephews Eddie, Frankie, Michael, Richard, Brian, Cathy, Richie, Joey, Juliette, John, Larry, Annmarie and Jenn. She also leaves behind a step-daughter, Liz (Rebecca), forever friend Sylvia Reed and Pat and Kevin's family: Kevin, Kelli, goddaughter Lizzi, Deirdre, the late Scottie, Kevin, Emma and Raymond.

Annmarie left us, entirely too soon, on September 27, 2016. She had an easy smile, a good heart and a sharp Irish wit. We'll miss all of those things about her. Remember her when you sit down to watch the Academy Awards , when you enjoy a good dinner with your family, and whenever the Jets win a game. (Don't use that last one as your only metric though; she'd want you to think of her more often than that.)
