Anne Killmer's Obituary
Anne Killmer, 79, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2016. She was born on July 29, 1937, in Poughkeepsie, to the late Frank and Mary Carbone.
After graduating high school she went on to work at IBM as a key punch operator in 1955. While working at IBM, she met and fell in love with Edward J. Killmer. On September 13, 1958, they were married and spent the next 58 years together. She spent most of her career working as the office manager at the Plumber and Steamfitters Union in Hyde Park. After her retirement she went on to work part time for the Pleasant Valley Fire Department. Outside of work, she was a devout catholic, being a 50 plus year member of St. Stanislaus Church, in Pleasant Valley where she taught religious education. She was a member of the ladies Home Bureau Club, and enjoyed doing arts and crafts. Her biggest passion in life was her family, and she was a mother figure to many neighborhood children.
Anne is survived by her husband Edward J. Killmer, her four loving children, Edward Killmer Jr, and his companion, Tara Hatfield, of Tampa Fl., Maryanne and Jack Lartz, of Poolsville, MD, Colleen and Richard Hayes, of Pleasant Valley, NY, and Janice and Joe DeQuarto of Highland, NY. She is also survived by her deeply cherished grandchildren: Kerianne and Kimberly Lartz, Corey and his wife Laureene Hayes, Danny and Matt Hayes, and Jaden and Tyler DeQuarto. In addition she is survived by her cousin Charina and Donald McDonald, and her brother, Edward and Phyllis Carbone, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main Street, Pleasant Valley, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial for Anne will be offered on Friday at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Church, Main Street, Pleasant Valley. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
