Angelica "Kiki" Belezos passed away peacefully in her home on July 10, 2022, knowing in her heart how deeply she was loved by her family. Kiki was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on March 25, 1928 to the late Lillian (Ladas) and William Spylios.  A vibrant soul full of life, Kiki made her mark wherever she went. As a child, she loved skating backwards down a hill with her best friend and laughing and joking with her four siblings. Her father was in the wholesale grocery business so she grew up loving fresh fruits and vegetables. The large Greek family would pile into the back of the produce truck and often picnic and take trips to Hampton Beach.
Kiki started kindergarten not knowing any English but would eventually head the English department as a teacher in New Hampshire. She spoke many languages including French, Spanish and German, loved crossword puzzles, and could always be counted on for proper grammar and explaining the origin and definition of words.  She spoke fondly of one of her first jobs as a waitress where she was required to memorize everyone's order. Kiki had a great memory! She also loved sports and was a diehard Yankees fan, watching every game to the very end even in her last days.  She coached a women's college softball team during her teaching years and, always the competitor, excelled in bowling which was a love and passion of hers. She was in multiple leagues with her late husband Nick and on her own.

Kiki met her husband Nick, the love of her life, at a dance in Derry, New Hampshire and it was love at first sight. They met in September, were engaged in October and married on Christmas Day. Kiki and Nick loved going to the beach and Timothy Lake and were inseparable, spending every moment they could together.  Family meant everything to Kiki, and she was happiest when surrounded by her children, Franklin who pre-deceased her, William Belezos and his wife Diane, Lily Stamper and her husband Andy, and Carol DiPietro and her husband John, and grandchildren Nick and Lydia Belezos, Cam and Chris Stamper, and Joe and Mike DiPietro. You couldn't find a bigger cheerleader than Kiki. We always knew Mom was rooting for us, could sense when something was wrong and always had just the right thing to say, and was firmly in our corner. Kiki was pre-deceased by her sisters Mary Spylios, Dorothy Spylios and Mary Hunt and her husband Peter, and brothers James Spylios and his wife Ida and Michael Spylios, and sisters-in-law Helen Tragellis, her husband Greg and their daughter Irene, and Connie Boulougouras.  She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Ilias Boulougouras, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins that she loved dearly.

Kiki was a very strong, positive, and brave woman who faced challenges head on. She had a fighting spirit and showed her humor and spunk right to the very end. She was our beautiful mom and will be missed more than words can describe.   Calling hours will be Friday, July 15 from 5-7PM at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY, and funeral services begin at 10AM on Saturday, July 16 at St. Gregory Orthodox Church, 1500 Route 376, Wappingers Falls, NY. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
