Allen J. Zemba's Obituary
Allen J. Zemba of Beacon, NY passed away on April 3, 2017 following a brief illness. Born in Yonkers, NY on October 3, 1942, Allen graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960. He worked as an auto mechanic on Lockwood Avenue for many years and was a race car driver in his youth. A U.S. Army Veteran, Allen was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He married Virginia DelBene in Yonkers on June 3, 1967 and they moved to Beacon in 1968.
Predeceased by his wife and his parents, John J. Zemba and Aloria "Goldie" Korchma Zemba, he is survived by their son, Allen J. Zemba, Jr., his brother, Kurt Zemba and sister-in-law Cathy; brothers-in-law Charlie and John DelBene, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his close companion for over a decade, Mary Ellen. We will miss his stories and his strength.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM from St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon. Burial will military honors will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery.
