Albert A. Richard, 86 of Pleasant Valley, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Livingston,NY.
Born in Hyde Park on August 27, 1932, he was the son of Leo and Marguerite Monahan Richard.
Albert served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. On June 23, 1956 in Pleasant Valley, he married Hilda-Jane McCarthy. Mrs. Richard predeceased him on March 17, 1989.
Mr. Richard was employed as a union electrician for many years with I.B.E.W. until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion in Poughkeepsie and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley.
Albert is survived by his 2 daughters, Rosemarie Canino and her husband Clement of NJ and Elizabeth Stackhouse and her husband Fred of Kinderhook; his son, Albert Richard and his wife Kathleen of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Emily Richard, Albert Richard and Gabrielle Stackhouse; his sister, Marguerite Caetano of Pensacola, FL.; his brother, William Richard of Rhinebeck and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 5 from 5 – 8 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, November 6 at 11 am from St. Stanislaus Church, 1590 Main St., Pleasant Valley. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
